Gene Fe Palencia is a distinguished educator and researcher with a solid foundation in Electronics Engineering discipline. She earned her Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, specializing in R&D IC Design (Analog IC Design), from National Taipei University. During this period, she complemented her academic pursuits with valuable practical experience as a Field Application Engineer - OJT at Fairchild Semiconductor in Taiwan.
For over a decade, Gene Fe dedicated herself to the University of San Carlos in the Philippines, where her contributions were substantial. She played a pivotal role in teaching both core and elective courses within the BSECE program and made significant contributions to the Master of Engineering program. Notably, she assumed the leadership mantle as the Head of the Electronics Laboratory, overseeing laboratory courses and curriculum development.
In 2016, Gene Fe embarked on a transformative journey towards a Ph.D. at Coventry University, UK. Her research endeavors have consistently pushed the boundaries of knowledge, delving into innovative domains such as machine learning, energy management systems for microgrids, data mining, data analytics, load forecasting, optimization, power electronics, and analog IC design.
Currently, Gene Fe Palencia serves as a faculty member in Electronics Engineering at MSU-IIT, where she continues to make a significant impact in the field of academia. Additionally, she fulfills the role of a project research staff, contributing her expertise to further enhance research initiatives. Her dedication to education and her unwavering commitment to pioneering research exemplify her remarkable career journey. She is also one of the current members of the editorial team of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines (IECEP) journal. She has served as an associate editor of the journal since 2021.
