DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña visits the MSU-IIT's Microelectronics Research Lab and gave us time to briefly exhibit what we have been doing in our µC-IC program research project funded by DOST-PCIEERD.
2019

DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development Dr. Rowena Cristina L. Guevara, and DOST Region X, Director Alfonso P. Alamban visited the Microelectronics Research Lab and witnessed the ongoing training on Cloud-Based Synthesis using Design Compiler last April 10, 2019.
Engr. Re-Ann Cristine O. Calimpusan, an SSRS of the DOST-PCIEERD µC-IC research program project received the best paper award during the IEEE HNICEM 2019 at Laoag, Ilocos Norte.

Microlab of MSU-IIT hosted and organized another IC Design Training on Digital IC Design Synthesis and SoC Planning Integration— Trainers from Synopsys Singapore (Nicholas Yee Wee Han(2nd from left), and Alvin Chua(3rd from left)). The training is funded by DOST-PCIEERD under µC-IC Project. For details click here.
Researchers from µC-IC Project funded by DOST - PCIEERD went to Surigao City to conduct and deliver training on Intro to HDL with FPGA, with our MSU-IIT Microlab's Visiting Professor, Dr. Xi Zhu of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. For more photos click here.
2018
MSU-IIT MICROLAB clenched its 2nd BEST PAPER AWARD on the 13th Analog Devices Technical Symposium (ADTS). The paper entitled “13.56MHz High PCE Power Conditioning Unit for Implantable Medical Devices,” was awarded the best paper in the symposium—a masteral thesis of Rovil Berido with adviser Prof. Allenn Lowaton. 2016
USAID-STRIDE RESEARCH GRANT AWARDING CEREMONY
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) – Science, Technology, Research and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) has awarded a research grant to the Microelectronics Lab (MicroLab) of the Electrical/Electronics and Computer Engineering Department. This is MSU-IIT’s first time to receive such grant. For more details click (news1, news2)
Prof. Hora, chosen to speak on behalf of the grantees, highlights from the speech, "the passion, will, and determination of every Filipino Engineer and Scientist to contribute to nation building will have no worth if there is no action taken."

The Microelectronics Laboratory made a significant contribution and impact in terms of research and extension outputs in achieving the Commission on Higher Education (CHED)’s recognition of its Electronics Engineering program as the only CENTER OF EXCELLENCE in Visayas and Mindanao.
2015
10th Analog Devices Technical Symposium
MSU-IIT MICROLAB clenched its 1st BEST PAPER AWARD on the 10th Analog Devices Technical Symposium (ADTS). The paper entitled “Overstress-Free Charge Pump White LED Driver” by Prof. Allenn dela Cerna Lowaton, Hong-Yi Huang and Darryl Dave G. Ditucalan was awarded the best paper in the symposium. This paper was written by Prof. Lowaton and was presented by Darryl Dave G. Ditucalan, a senior ECE student. For details click here.
The Microlab MSEE research thesis, titled, "A modified RF-to-DC CMOS rectifier design for energy harvesting," clinched the BEST PAPER Award in the 8th AUN/SEED-Net Regional Conference on Electrical and Electronics Eng'g co-located with 11th ERDT Conference. The research is authored by John Michael Tolete, and Assoc. Prof. Jefferson A. Hora.
